Visiting Burnham Park

During our stay in the City of Pines, Baguio City, we never missed the chance to visit the well-known Burnham Park named after the famous American architect and urban planner, Daniel Hudson Burnham. The Park is located at the heart of the city, popular for its manmade lake located at the center of the park where my kids got to enjoy the boat ride, boats are available for rent. You will surely enjoy the place. Some of its attractions include boating, skating areas, bicycle, gaming and sports areas. The park is covered with beautiful flowers. I saw some families having their picnic on the grounds too. Souvenir shops are also available within the area.

Strawberry Farm at Baguio City

Coming from Davao del Norte, my kids never had the chance to eat a strawberry fruit. When we went to Baguio City for a family reunion, I really tried my best to visit the strawberry farm and bought some strawberries. Although the berries are not that big like the ones I have back in Japan, I still bought some and have my kids taste it. It's actually sour, so I bought a condensed milk to dip the berry. With the milk, they then started to appreciate the taste. Well its fun, the only regret I have was not able to pick the fruit myself.

The Strawberry Farm is located just 30 minutes from Baguio City, knowing Baguio as the strawberry and summer capital of the Philippines, visiting the farm is a MUST! The photos below were taken about 4-5pm in the afternoon but the fogs are already visible. This was during the summer of April, 2011. Outside the farm are stalls of souvenir shops, we were amazed by the fact that we were able to use our credit card on one of the stalls.
